Kharisma Mcllwaine
Karisma McIlwaine, a Philadelphia native, is a Multimedia Personality, Writer, Community Ambassador, Singer and Film Maker. Some career highlights include interviews with: Ava DuVernay, Adam McKay, Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Hart, Ice Cube, and Malcolm D. Lee. Kharisma can also add to her list of accomplishments singing background for Mariah Carey, Kenny Loggins, and opening for Eric Roberson, Kenny Lattimore, and Deborah Cox. You can currently see Kharisma volunteering for a variety of charity organizations, and serving as a board member for Big Picture Alliance.

Sara Picard
Sara Picard established Millennium Healthcare Group, a national healthcare consulting firm specializing in employee benefits and administration, in 1998. She is also the founder of The Managed Care Institute, a non-profit health education organization, designed to promote health awareness on critical disease state conditions and chronic illnesses. Ms. Picard's experience and innovation in the health care field is exemplified by her tenure at two of the country's largest health insurance organizations: Aetna/US Healthcare and Independence Blue Cross. where she served as VP of Personal Choice, from 1993-1998 and Aetna, Asst. VP of Corporate Marketing, from 1986-1993.



​Saleem Brown, M.Ed.

Executive Director and Chairman of the Board
Saleem Brown earned his Bachelor’s degree in business administration and Master’s degree in organizational leadership from Cabrini College where he now serves as the Associate Director of First-Year Experience after spending the last 10 years as the Assistant Director of Admissions. As the Associate Director of First-Year Experience, Saleem oversees academic programming for summer orientation and pre-orientation and works with Cav Cares, a group that works to make the transition from high school easier for first-generation college students by pairing incoming students with current Cabrini student mentors. Saleem has also been with Cabrini's men's basketball team for 10 years, mentoring student athletes who were struggling in the classroom. Saleem’s dedication to Cabrini College and its mission has not gone unnoticed. In 2012 Saleem received the Young Alumni Award, which recognized his contributions to the Cabrini community and his continued dedication to service. Saleem was also awarded the Denise Edwards Award in 2015, which is given to individuals who exemplify the spirit of Cabrini athletics.

Write Your Future is the public service branch of Saleem Enterprises, INC., a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2016 by Salem Brown, Associate Director of First-Year Experience at Cabrini College. 




Write Your Future is committed to closing the opportunity and achievement gaps in Philadelphia-area schools through our transformative Summer Enrichment Program.


Jennifer Marks-Gold, M.Ed.
Ms. Marks-Gold earned her Bachelor’sdegree from Drexel University and a Master’s of Education Degree from Cabrini College. She has served as an International Student Adviser and Primary Designated School Official for over 19 years and has held these positions at both Cabrini College and Swarthmore College. Additionally, she has conducted consulting work relating to international student programs and SEVIS compliance with an additional 10 colleges and universities. Ms. Marks-Gold is a member of NAFSA (National Association of International Educators) and PAIEN (Philadelphia Area International Educators’ Network) where she is also the co- treasurer. She is also a member, co-founder and current treasurer of the Main Line Adviser Group. Ms. Marks-Gold has presented several workshops on immigration at national and regional conferences and has also planned seminars for groups wishing to learn more about diversity, culture shock and immigration topics. Beyond these professional memberships, Ms. Marks- Gold is also a co-founder of ADOORE, African Development On Organized Reading Education, which promotes access to reading, technology, and educational opportunities in Africa. Jennifer comes from a family of educators and believes in life long learning.   Her passion is to support, teach and help students achieve their own dreams and goals.

Sonny Pinkney
Sonny Pinkney, a graduate of Howard University located in Washington D.C. fed his passion for journalism by writing for the university’s school newspaper “The Hilltop” This experience would help Mr. Pinkney to land two internships with the local NBC and CBS affiliates. Which lead to employment with Comcast SportsNet, Metro Philadelphia Newspaper & WCHE 1520 AM.


Shawn Lehmann M.S.
Shawn Lehmann is the Institutional Review Board and Research Compliance Manager at Swarthmore College. He earned his Master's degree in experimental psychology from Central Michigan University where his research interests included cognitive deficits in students with depression, gender differences in how relationships are valued, and the influence social media. Shawn then served as the Research Coordinator for the The Renfrew Center, a national treatment network for individuals with eating disorders. During his time at Renfrew, Shawn oversaw nearly two dozen research studies resulting in publications and presentations at numerous international conferences. Now at Swarthmore College, Shawn manages the college's research ethics committee and serves as the research compliance officer. Shawn and his wife live in Wayne, PA.

Pax Tandon
Prakriti “Pax” Tandon is a Philadelphia-based positive psychology expert, media personality, and life coach. Armed with her Masters Degree in Positive Psychology from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, Pax joins the Write Your Future team to incorporate the power of Mindfulness into day-to-day operations and the curriculum for the betterment of the team and students.
